After a 20 year hiatus, Port Melbourne will return to the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association (VSDCA) in season 2021/22.
Over the past 3 years the Subbies have been discussing the likelihood of expanding the competition from 28 teams to 32 team.
At a recent club delegates meeting, the clubs voted to expend their competition and from season 2021/22 four new club will join the VSDCA. Donvale, Spotswood, Strathmore and Port Melbourne will be included.
For Port Melbourne, it is a long awaited return for the Association where we were a founding member. Out last season in VSDCA was in 2002 and with lack of teams, we were forced to leave. Over the past 20 years the club has grown with great numbers throughout the grades and we have worked hard during this time to have a strong junior program.
Port Melbourne were the inaugural winner of the VSDCA premiership in 1908/09 season.
We look forward to the journey ahead and we are looking forward to what lies ahead.
